9 Next WWE Steps For The Miz

In something of a nod to The Miz’s recent renaissance, WWE began to incorporate his return to prominence into storylines. As Intercontinental Champion, he started demanding a new and improved contract, with the kind of pay that would reflect his self-purported “A-lister” status.

The angle has since reached something of a conclusion though, and in rather inconspicuous fashion. Earlier in the week, it was announced via Twitter that SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan and The Miz had agreed terms on a new deal, but that doesn’t have to signal the end of this matter.

Personally, I’d like to have seen him hold up the company with his contractual demands. That in itself would have made him look like a star in the same way that Brock Lesnar and CM Punk did a few years back. Judging by Twitter, obviously that doesn’t look like it'll be happening now, but they can still ham up this angle in revealing the details of the contract.

Have The Miz come out on SmackDown boasting of private jets, all-expenses paid and a healthy seven-figure salary, further dialling-up the heel factor and creating the aura of a top-tier star.
