9 Pitches For WWE Ruthless Aggression Season 3
8. WWECW
This is a story of precipitous ups and downs. When WWE first attempted to relaunch ECW, it could hardly have gone better. The first two One Night Stands are among the most beloved PPVs in company history, with great and distinct matches, major moments, and an all-time great crowd.
On the flip side, there’s ECW on the Sci-Fi channel, which went wrong disastrously and predictably. It refused to cater to the ECW hardcore fans, programming the likes of Batista vs. Big Show, and when WWE caved to the network’s demands for in-keeping content, we got the likes of Kevin Thorn the vampire.
Where did it all go wrong? Well, one person who’d be dying to explain all would be Paul Heyman, who endured one of his trademark fallings out with WWE after the dreadful December To Dismember PPV. Besides him, the likes of RVD and Sabu are always engaging, and could no doubt spin the yarn of this sorry attempt to make more cash out of a long-dead company.
Beyond that, though, there are elements of WWE ECW that aren’t nearly as bad as people remember. And while this wouldn’t fill as much screentime as the folly, there are a few matches worth cherishing.
