9 Planned WWE WrestleMania 32 Matches That Fell Apart
3. The Undertaker Versus Braun Strowman
When rumors about the WrestleMania 32 card began to take shape last autumn, fans were shocked to hear that WWE was planning on pitting The Undertaker against The Wyatt Family's Braun Strowman. The Undertaker, by anyone's measure, doesn't have too many more matches left in his tank, and a bout against the completely inexperienced Strowman would be a waste of The Phenom. Still, the titanic Strowman was clearly being protected in company booking, and Vince McMahon's propensity for pushing enormous musclemen made the rumors believable. Why it fell apart: Cooler heads prevailed. In an age where workrate matters more than ever and WWE has raided independent and international leagues in order to assemble as talented a roster as possible, a match between The Undertaker and Braun Strowman simply wouldn't fly. Fans expect a certain level of quality from WrestleMania's top matches, and when news about this bout broke, the online reaction was overwhelmingly negative. If rumors are to be believed, that reaction contributed to WWE's decision to pull the plug on the match and come up with something better for Undertaker.
