9 Reasons To Stop Watching WWE RAW

2. Commentary Makes RAW Worse

Save your ears (and your intellect). Don't listen to RAW. I've discussed the abysmal state of commentary ad nauseam in several articles over the past few weeks. In a previous decade, the commentary was actually a reason to tune into the show. Believe it or not, the WWE announce team really used to be a strong point for the product whether it was Jessie Ventura and Vince McMahon, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler in their prime, or most especially, Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon. The most mundane of matches could be full of quality storytelling or in the case of the Brain and the Gorilla, legitimately laugh-out-loud comedy. They helped get stars over, a completely lost art these days. Today, we get numerous different voices speaking the same words. It doesn't matter whether it's JBL, Cole, Saxton or somebody else, they're all speaking the words of Vince McMahon. The current job responsibilities of a WWE broadcaster is to take the 70 year-old Vince McMahon's words and regurgitate them to the audience. To call the commentary intelligence-insulting would be an upgrade from what it currently is. It doesn't sound natural, it doesn't sound genuine, and it only detracts from the television show. And it's another obvious reason to stop watching RAW.
