9 Surprises That Could Happen At WWE Royal Rumble 2019

2. Braun Wins The Royal Rumble

Given how strongly WWE have telegraphed Seth Rollins winning the Royal Rumble this year (not hugely a bad thing but that’s another article) anyone else emerging victorious would qualify as something of a shock.

Of all the potential candidates - and there're arguments to be made for Cena, Drew and a beaten Bálor, however weak - the only one who even flirts with the realms of reality is Braun Strowman. By WWE’s own logic of Big Men Are Good At Rumbles No, Really They Are, They’re Really Big, he should be the favourite.

It’s unlikely, but there is an outside shot that they’ve so blatantly made Rollins ‘the guy’ to mask the actual winner. Back in the day they used to call that a “swerve” I believe.

Quite how receptive the WWE audience would be to Braun vs Brock again in this alleged era of change is open to debate, but Braun vs Bálor would definitely qualify as fresh. For that to happen though…
