9 Things I Learned From Watching WCW Greed

6. Shawn Stasiak Was Terrible

The son of former WWWF Champion Stan Stasiak, Shawn Stasiak will surely go down in history as one of the worst second generation wrestlers of all time. Yes, worse than Wes Brisco and David Sammartino. For some reason both the WWF and WCW tried to make Stasiak a thing in the late 90s and early 00s, and predictably neither succeeded.

At Greed, Stasiak goes up against a clearly-not-interested Bam Bam Bigelow, and holy moly does the match suck. Bam Bam managed to get a good match out of an NFL linebacker in 1995, but I don't think even 2013 Daniel Bryan would have been able to get something passable out of Stasiak.

Stasiak would return to WWF for the Invasion story, and his characters got more and more ridiculous until he was released in 2002. He currently works as a chriopractor.

Stacey Kiebler looked great though.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
