7. There's No Dream Opponent, Just Dream Eras

Like all professional wrestlers, a common interview question that comes up for Sabre is who his dream opponent would be. I'm sure that somewhere within him there will be names that jump up more so than others, but in general Sabre has diplomatically said that the list is long and that is that.

He's been more comfortable stating that he does wish he could have wrestled in a different era. Those aware with his style won't find this too shocking, but it is the British wrestling scene of the 1970s and 80s that interests him the most. He was a big fan of World of Sport from an early age, and this led to him exploring the style more and more.

Names like Johnny Kidd and Johnny Saint crop up more than most, but it is the Golden Era of British Wrestling in general that stands out for Sabre.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
