1. The Hanging
At WrestleMania XV, Big Boss Man battled The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match that WWE should also hope remains hidden, a footnote in that event's history. What they really hope remains tucked away, forgotten with the passage of time, is what happened after The Phenom defeated the prison guard to extend his win streak. After the match, The Brood descended from the ring and proceeded to tie a noose around the head of Boss Man. From there, he Georgian was hanged from the ceiling as the cell was lifted to the ceiling. It was a haunted image, one that packs an even bigger punch in the wake of Boss Man's untimely demise. It was a moment that existed solely to shock the audience. There was no quality followup, neither competitor benefited and the response was a moment of great discomfort just over a month from the very real, very tragic demise of Owen Hart. Today, some 17 years later, it remains one of the most blatant attempts to manufacture shock and outrage and a low point of Vince Russo's shock television approach to storytelling.
