9 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Big Boss Man
7. He Is Really, REALLY Defensive Of Momma Boss Man
Sometime in the 1990s, "your momma" jokes became all the rage in cafeterias and classrooms across the country. Some were done in good fun, others were mean in spirit but whatever the case was, odds are you did not make it through a day without spouting off about a friend or foe's mother. That s*** did not fly with Big Boss Man. Late in 1990, Bobby Heenan made himself the target of the Cobb County native when he heinously made fun of momma Boss Man. It was a real dick move, one that would naturally earn him a whooping from most proud men. He was disrespectful and downright rude and members of the vaunted Heenan Family paid for it. Boss Man picked off Haku, Barbarian before heading to WrestleMania VII where he nearly captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship. While the program might be one of the most underrated WrestleMania stories ever, it was not exactly the best way to build a confident hero. Someone so sensitive that his entire goal was to avenge a few mean words about mom is hardly the stuff of a main event babyface. It really cooled Boss Man's moment and the fact that the story was never really wrapped up only made matters worse. A definitive conclusion, with Boss Man bumping Heenan around the ring for five minutes on national television, would have made it a bit more forgivable AND worth remembering.
