The 19,500 capacity Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri will forever be known to professional wrestling fans as the site of the death of Owen Hart, who passed away aged 34 at the Over the Edge PPV on May 23 1999 after falling from a catwalk suspended 70ft above the ring, where he was going to perform a comical, zip line-assisted entrance.

The shocking incident didn't deter WWE from returning to the arena in future, however. In fact, just a few months later on 24 August, Vince McMahon's travelling circus returned to tape an episode of SmackDown to be broadcast two days later.

The next time WWE promoted at the famous arena was for Backlash 2002. After that, WWE moved their Missouri business to the Sprint and Scottrade Centers.
