Years after his second WWE release, Kendrick reappeared backstage at December 2014’s NXT Takeover: R Evolution event, where he was reportedly trying-out to be a trainer at the WWE Performance Center. NXT’s current General Manager met and trained with Kendrick during his time working under Shawn Michaels, and, speaking in 2005, called Kendrick “a great lad, full of respect, and an absolute pleasure to train with.”
