Enjoying a burgeoning reputation as an exciting worker on the American independent circuit in the early 2000s, Kendrick scored a fantastic opportunity to work for Japan’s Pro Wrestling Zero-One.

A wrestler named Mikey Henderson had just turned down the opportunity to travel, and Kendrick stepped into the spot. On less than two days notice, travelled to Japan, drove for 40 hours, wrestled three matches in the same time period, and drank gallons of protein shakes to stay awake throughout.
