9 Things You Didn't Know About WWE No Way Out

2. Brock Lesnar Wasn't Happy About Losing WWE Title To Eddie Guerrero In 2004

Eddie Guerrero's WWE Title triumph at No Way Out was one of the ultimate feel-good moments in WWE history. Eddie, former alcoholic and drug addict who had lost it all, was told he was too small to be a World champion and had battled against the stigma that Latino stars couldn't draw, was the top dog in WWE. Fans across the world, as well as Guerrero's co-workers, rejoiced at the seemingly implausible victory. One man wasn't ready to run up and hug Eddie, though; his opponent, Brock Lesnar. The Next Big Thing had been p***ed off for months, dating back to a March 15th, 2003 house show in Florida where he was told at the last second that he'd be doing a job for hometown boy The Rock. WWE placated him by giving him big-money programmes with Kurt Angle and The Undertaker, but saw dropping the strap and a WrestleMania with Goldberg as a step down. He wanted to be the champion, as it's the champion that draws the most money. Brock wrote in his autiography that:
I certainly wasn€™t happy about being replaced by Eddie Guerrero as WWE Champion. I remembered how every step up the ladder was worth more money to me, and now I€™m looking at going back down that ladder? [...] I didn€™t believe Vince wanted the title on Eddie Guerrero because he thought Eddie would draw more money than I could, or that Vince had this vision in his head about me versus Goldberg at WrestleMania.
Credit to Brock for being professional on the night and doing the job for his much smaller opponent, but he clearly wasn't happy about it, and would be gone from the company a month later.
