9. Vs. The Nexus (Pinned By Justin Gabriel, Raw August 30th 2010)
Remember when it looked like The Nexus might actually become something a little big special? Before, y'know, the real WWE superstars like Cena and Randy Orton began beating them and they were reduced to little more than a joke? A couple of weeks after Cena had shortsightedly steamrolled the stable at SummerSlam, they received a glimmer of hope in the main event of the August 30th Raw (the 900th episode of the WWE's flagship show). Team WWE (Cena, Orton, Edge, Chris Jericho and Sheamus) took on The Nexus and the result would be a lot different this time. Instead of no-selling a DDT on and floor as he had at SummerSlam, Cena was unable to overcome the odds and was pinned by Justin Gabriel, following a 450 splash. More incredibly still, this wasn't even the finish of the match, as Orton was last beaten by Nexus captain Wade Barrett. It's absolute incredible to think that WWE sacrificed Cena to Gabriel and the Nexus, given how things would turn out in the weeks and months to come. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8xFMSVGTE0
