9 Times The Past Came Back To Haunt WWE Superstars

9. Charlie... Haas?

Ahead of Backlash 2006, Shelton Benjamin was gearing up to try and take Rob Van Dam's Money in the Bank briefcase away from Mr. Monday Night. Shelton was Intercontinental Champion at the time, and as such it was inevitable that RVD would be interested in adding gold to his trophy collection. Ahead of their match, both men would choose opponents for the other, with their respective trophies on the line if they were to lose.

Anyone claiming Shelton Benjamin was all athleticism and nothing more should watch this match. Shelton's opponent was none other than Charlie Haas, his former tag team partner in the World's Greatest Tag Team. Shelton's mannerisms and reactions for the first couple of minutes of the match are fantastic, even stopping to ask Haas what he is doing before getting blasted with a dropkick.

Benjamin's desire to mock RVD would eventually get the best of him, as Haas surprised the IC Champ with a Jackknife cover. This unfortunately didn't lead to an extended Haas/Benjamin feud, but for one night Charlie was superior.
