9 Times Wrestlers Were Draped In Gold
7. Rob Van Dam (Sorta)
Yeah, he was the ECW Champ and the WWE Champ at the same time. But that's not what we're talking about.
By 2002, WWE was absolutely swimming in championship belts. Over the course of a few months, several titles would disappear from the scene, and the man who made that happen was Rob Van Dam.
In his second reign as Intercontinental Champion, RVD captured the European title from Jeff Hardy in a unification ladder match. After losing the IC belt to Benoit, then regaining it less than a month later, he unified it with the Hardcore title by defeating Tommy Dreamer.
So technically, Van Dam was a triple champion at this time. He went on to lose the belt (and all other associated unified belts) to Chris Jericho a month later. And the IC belt itself was unified with the World Heavyweight Championship and abandoned soon after.
But let's not give Triple H credit for being a technical quadruple champion. It would only encourage him.
