9 Times WWE Disrespected The Cruiserweights

9. Title Change On Velocity

Title matches are usually reserved for pay-per-view or a major Raw or Smackdown. Rarely, if ever, were the belts defended on the lowly weekend shows like Metal, Jakked, Velocity and Sunday Night Heat. Even if they were, it was basically a foregone conclusion that the Champion was walking out with his belt intact. I mean, who loses their Championship on a show like Velocity? Cruiserweight Champion Paul London, that's who. The outspoken London was booked to drop the strap to the almost-forgotten Nunzio on the August 2nd 2005 edition of the show. Why was he told to do this? Because he had the gall to speak directly to Vince McMahon about his frustrations with the direction of the division (more on that in a moment). If you needed any evidence for how WWE regarded their Cruiserweight Title, just look at the fact that they had a title change take place on a show that pretty much nobody watched or cared about (despite hardcore fans who knew that Velocity was often better than Smackdown).
