9 Times WWE's WrestleMania Main Event Was The Worst Match On The Card

1. WrestleMania 9: That Counts As A Match?

Any match that made fans forget about the godawful Undertaker versus Giant Gonzalez had to take the crown for this list.

The scheduled main event for WrestleMania 9 was always going to be a bad match, but Bret Hart made sure his WWF Championship bout with Yokozuna was at least watchable, even if it left fans frustrated by the outcome.

It’s what came next that completely overshadowed everything that preceded it.

Longtime fans know what unfolded: Hulk Hogan ran out to “help” a blinded Hart when Mr. Fuji challenged the Hulkster to an impromptu title match right then and there. Bret gave his blessing, Hulk ducked Fuji’s salt throw (which nailed Yoko) and dropped the leg to win the title in less than 30 seconds.

That match has become synonymous with terrible WrestleMania matches, the ultimate anti-moment. WrestleMania 9 is generally regarded as one of the worst – if not the worst – 'Manias, and the shock Hogan title win is the cherry on top that everyone references as solidifying that lowly status.
