9 Unofficial WWE Royal Rumbles
5. 20-Man Tag Team Royal Rumble (Raw, 16/6/98)
Monday Night Raw, then under the name Raw is War, hosted its first Royal Rumble in June 1998, a match held in order to determine the new number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles.
Some 10 teams were featured therein, for a total of 20 men. Among them were legendary double acts like The Headbanger, LOD 2000 and The Midnight Express - but it was the thrown-together duo of Mankind and Kane that out-lasted them all.
If you think this sounds like a must-watch, then here's a dose of reality: it was actually pretty nondescript in execution. New entrants came out every 30 seconds or so, and the whole thing only lasted about 10 minutes from bell to bell.
Remarkably, it also wasn't even the biggest tag team match of the night. Later on, we got the aforementioned pair of Mankind and Kane against Undertaker and then-WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin - inside Hell in a Cell, no less. The Attitude Era, folks.
