9 Unofficial WWE Royal Rumbles
6. 18-Man Royal Rumble (Osaka, Japan - 9/5/94)
The third and final Rumble of 1994 took place in May during a post-WrestleMania trip to Japan; the only occasion on which the match - official or otherwise - has been staged outside of the United States or Canada.
In this one, just 18 competitors took part, a number so random that it makes you wonder whether there weren't supposed to be two others who were held up at the airport security for classic wrestlers-on-tour hijinks.
Happily, WWE gave a nod to local wrestling culture by including a few Japanesee names. Masashi Aoyagi, Nobukazu Hirai and Jinsei Shinzaki all took part, the latter of whom would go onto enjoy a fairly fruitless stint with the company up until early '96 as Hakushi.
It was The Undertaker, however, who walked out with victory. Having just returned from months on the treatment table, and with a major storyline featuring his doppelganger to come, this was probably the sensible choice.
