9 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

1. The Sheer Feeling

At Grand Slam, two of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time worked a 30 minute classic that seemed like it would never happen even in April of this year. The most effective heat-seeker in the promotion positioned himself for a fresh long-term rivalry. CM Punk came back, again. A fading babyface hinted at a sorely-needed new direction, and if you've forgotten how amazing Cody was as a heel in 2018, strap the f*ck in. A beloved figure of your childhood somehow contrived to wrestle as the beloved figure of your childhood. Representation won as thrillingly as Dr. Britt Baker did in the main event.

AEW is not running out of pops. AEW has maintained the euphoric feeling generated at All Out. AEW has formally entered a Golden Age of pro wrestling.

When was the last time wrestling made you feel like this?

That's more important than a ***** match - but AEW gives you that too.

It is the Everything promotion right now.
