Pretty Deadly Los Garza

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Los Garza vs. Pretty Deadly was a sprint not a marathon. The best thing about it was seeing PD get some flowers and become number one contenders for the tag belts. You've got to love all the little stories running through the tag division over the past few months. It’s blatantly all heading to a multi-team match at ‘Mania, which is cool, but it’s similarly cool to see Pretty Deadly become contenders to DIY in the interim.

Kit and Elton even got some cheers from the fans, which should go a long way behind the scenes. Triple H knows that Philly is a key market for the company, and the fans there don't suffer fools. They've seen almost everything, helped birth the ECW revolution, and they let their thoughts be heard no matter how in-tune with WWE plans they are. In that respect, seeing Pretty Deadly get bolstered by cheering bodes well for them.

All three teams knew they didn't have bags of time to work with on Friday. This was an 'in and out' kind of setting, so anyone who enjoys the trios style found in AEW will like a lot of the work here. Selling was an afterthought, admittedly, but it worked when putting across how up for it and competitive the division is as a whole.

Ideally, like The Street Profits, PD will start to strip away some of their more flamboyant tropes. The UK pair are really, really solid at being serious when the booking calls for it. This match was a hoot.
