9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (17 Nov)

7. Kenny Omega Takes Time Out

Dynamite opened on The Elite, who gathered before a staircase in a pretaped bit that effectively confirmed Kenny Omega's impending televised absence. With shoulder surgery potentially looming, plus the revelation he has been suffering from vertigo while competing, Omega has more than earned this. Here's to his recovery.

"Cleaner, I got this," Adam Cole replied when Omega mentioned holding down the fort. Kenny was talking to The Young Bucks, though, not their Superkliq partner, which was the hook here.

Though there's no word on how long Omega's absence will stretch, there's a lot of interesting ground to cover while he's away. Cole clearly overestimates his relationship with Kenny. His growing in Elite power without Kenny away opens the door for a potential feud when Omega upon the latter's comeback, though Bobby Fish's convergence into the group at Adam's behest and a potential Kevin Steen signing (thus completing Mount Rushmore) is interesting too.

Really, a treasure trove of possibilities here. Earnestly great stuff.
