9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (17 Nov)

6. The Dante Martin Bidding War

Team Taz
AEW

Team Taz continued their pitch for Dante Martin's services last night, once again propositioning the Lio Rush-affiliated flyer after a win over The Acclaimed. They're playing the long game, Taz and his boys, and depending on how this is played, AEW has lots of different matches with Martin, Rush, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, and possibly Hook available to play with. Even more shoulder Darius Martin return from injury in the near future.

The angle was preceded by a tight, cohesive match in which The Acclaimed played grounded foils for Martin and Rush. Anthony Bowens and Max Caster entered one of their most complete performers to date, helping draw "this is awesome!" chants from a crowd that there primarily there to see fireworks, but will have known said fireworks popped more because of the work the heels did to stifle them.

One particularly impressive passage saw Martin and Rush change direction off the ropes several times, showing incredibly coordination to bewilder their opponents in an exchange that could easily have gone wrong. The duo are such an exciting presence on the tag scene at the moment - and AEW continues to do a good job of spotlighting Dante's incredible athletic spots.

Lio got the pin via Frog Splash.
