9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (17 Nov)

5. MJF Meets CM Punk

MJF cut a brilliant promo to wrap his Darby Allin program after Full Gear.

Seemingly taped backstage after the match itself, it saw MJF sat backstage, addressing his spot in blistering fashion. The world now had no choice but to acknowledge how good he is, MJF claimed, putting himself over as the best wrestler in the world after defeating Darby via headlock takeover, not once acknowledging that this win was the product of desperation when Allin matched his pure wrestling approach, then cheating with the diamond ring.

That's great heel work. MJF is wrong. Everybody knows he's wrong apart from Maxwell itself.

MJF hit the ring later on, cutting a calmer but no less obnoxious promo, promising to "take a big cowboy sh*t" on Hangman Page's reign. He claimed there wasn't a single person in the locker room that could measure up to him. Enter CM Punk, who walked out, glared at MJF, then turned back around when Max extended a hand, creeping inside the Pinnacle leader's head.

It's a good start to a potential feud between the two, particularly as so much of MJF's dialogue throughout his last storyline revolved around breaking Allin mentally. Now, the coin has flipped. Let's see how he reacts.
