9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (30 Mar)

6. A Storm's A Brewin'

Toni Storm
AEW

Toni Storm commanded an incredible pop when she emerged as The Bunny's mystery opponent last night. Clearly, the audience's stock in her wasn't diminished by a mediocre WWE run that never took flight in the United States, despite her relative success on the other side of the Atlantic.

The match was solid enough. Bunny isn't somebody AEW would want to squash, given the investment in building her up as a character-heavy gatekeeper-type figure over the past year or so, and therefore enjoyed plenty of offense against the debutant. Would a mauling have been more effective? Perhaps, but Bunny wouldn't have been the right opponent for that scenario.

Nonetheless, Storm nailed the Strong Zero for a victory that clearly meant a lot to over. Overcome with emotion after the bell, she mouthed "thank you," "I missed this", and more, welling up from the audience's fantastic response.

A red-hot in-ring prospect with her best years far ahead of her, Toni should prove a great addition.
