9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (30 Mar)

7. Thunder Rosa Corrects Course

Thunder Rosa
AEW

AEW's acknowledgement that Thunder Rosa wouldn't be interrupted in last night's promo broke the fourth wall, but at least showed that the promotion understands why last week's segment with Vickie Guerrero and Nyla Rose failed. The Women's World Champion deserved a smarter, more substantial angle in her home state, without the problematic "fake green card" verbiage.

Last night, Rosa cut a good promo on the entire division. Bringing trademark fire and intensity to the table, she came off well as she spoke of fighting and clawing her way to the top, saying that when pillars get knocked down, foundations like her stay sturdy. A simple, no-bullsh*t promo, followed up by a typically catchy Nyla diatribe later on.

While predictable, the match should serve as a vehicle to split Rose from Guerrero and have Nyla go babyface should AEW take that route. Rosa felt like somebody on the verge of an incendiary run coming out of this, too. Her spirit always comes through in segments like this.
