9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (23 August - Review)

2. Everybody (Still) Loves The Acclaimed

Billy Gunn
AEW

The Acclaimed set up their All In match against the House of Black in a simple but effective segment. They called out the House of Black, who beat them up before a returning Daddy Ass made the save. There wasn't much to it beyond that, but there didn't need to be. Daddy Ass - who promised to bring Bad Ass Billy Gunn to London - received a monstrous ovation. People, evidently, are nowhere near ready to watch him retire.

Isn't that a good reason to add a retirement stip to the match?

The first two matches in the series were absolutely bang average, and surely the third needs this threat to add emotion to a familiar dynamic that didn't blow a solitary soul away.

Then again, the pop here was so loud that Wembley should elevate the merely solid match quality on the night.
