9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (27 Oct)

7. The Elite Tease

The Elite disappear Thanos gimmick

The idea of a rested Elite returning to their promotion with something enormous to prove - that they are more valuable to it than CM Punk - has phenomenal potential. These three men are motivated to be the absolute best, and this is the stiffest challenge they've faced since December 2019. They came through that two months later by working the best tag team match of all time.

What might follow now could and should be incredible.

Their being erased was acknowledged in the short vignette too, which is fascinating. This is the first time the Elite have been directly acknowledged on TV since All Out, and it would appear that they aren’t just going to simply reappear out of nowhere, which would be flat and insulting and cast a shadow on their return.
