9 Ups & 2 Downs From NXT TakeOver: In Your House

Downs...

2. “Must End In The Ring”

Adam Cole Velveteen Dream

Hmm.

That was the overriding feeling when WWE made it clear that Adam Cole vs. Velveteen Dream in a 'Backlot Brawl' had to end inside a wrestling ring. It kinda' ruins the point of an outside scrap if there's a proper ring present and the match "must" end between those ropes.

Dream and Cole worked wonders with that frankly mystifying stipulation though. If you enjoyed the mayhem of MITB (which, in fairness, put a ring on top of WWE HQ, so it might be a bit cheap to whine about what happened at TakeOver) and AEW's 'Stadium Stampede', then you'd have liked this one too.

Nice touches of comedy like an Uber driver showing up and stopping both men in their tracks, the inclusion of Cole's Undisputed Era cronies, Dexter Lumis and more made this a run romp through big spots and cinematic carnage despite the glaring presence of a ring.
