9 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (22 July)

AEW Collision Juice Robinson Action Andretti Jay White
AEW

Since its inception, AEW Collision has delivered some fantastic tag team action - not least with two genuine Match of the Year contenders from FTR vs. Juice Robinson & Jay White - and this week yet again provided some entertaining, engaging tag team competition.

Here, it was Juice and Jay back between the ropes, with the energetic underdogs of Action Andretti and Darius Martin standing across the ring from them.

Andretti and Martin were pitch-perfect as the spirited high-flyers battling against the odds, and Robinson and White were likewise brilliant with their usual prickish heel act. On that front, the presence of Austin and Colten Gunn outside the ring to cheer their Bullet Club Cohorts on, further stacked the odds against Action and Darius - with the jackal-like cackles and screams of the Gunns bringing a good ol' dollop of obnoxiousness to the table.

As mentioned elsewhere, the match-ending Blade Runner from Jay White on Action Andretti was somehow missed in real time, but the bout itself was a solid one which served its purpose of getting the Bang Bang Gang back to winning ways.

There should also be praise here for the wonderful duo of Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness, who were keen to stress that if last week's two-out-of-three-falls match against FTR was a regular tag team contest, Robinson and White would now be the AEW Tag Team Champions. By highlighting that fact, the commentary team added even more legitimacy to Juice and Jay as a pairing; something that was likewise enhanced by referencing the tandem as having a keen interest in next week's Tag Team Titles contest between FTR and Adam Cole & MJF.
