9 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (22 July)
5. Mild Progress For Miro
Since returning to the AEW fold on Collision's debut episode, we've seen Miro have quick squash match victories and deliver pre-taped promos renouncing his god, his gold, and his flexible wife. Here, it was yet another squash win for the Redeemer, but it was at least different enough to those other victories to be classed as mild progress for the Bulgarian.
This week's squash came against Nick Comoroto, which for once presented Miro with someone just as big and powerful - if not more so - as himself. The former Rusev was also put in peril ever-so-briefly, with Comoroto attacking his opponent as Miro made his way to the ring.
Of course, Miro would get the win, but Comoroto had a spirited minute or so of offense, including attempting a pin on the one-time TNT Champion. Following that, Miro would sidestep at attack from the powerhouse in the corner, hit a German suplex, a kick, then lock in his Game Over submission for the victory.
AEW does need to start doing something more with Miro in the near-future, but for now, this week's Collision outing did just about enough to warrant an Up.
