9 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Collision (July 8)
3. The In-Ring Return Of Scorpio Sky
While some will claim that AEW Collision is a dumping ground for the company's naughty kids, the other way to look at Collision is as an opportunity to showcase lesser-featured talents. And in that regard, few have been less featured across the past year as Scorpio Sky.
To be precise, prior to this week's Collision, it had been one year and two days since Scorpio Sky's last match. Thankfully, a backstage promo last week was followed here by an actual in-ring outing for the former TNT Champion.
The match itself was fine for what it needed to be, with Sky getting the better of Action Andretti in a bout which went a smidge over seven minutes. Andretti served to be a a solid fit as Scorp's opponent, with the pair's sleek, smooth styles nicely complimenting one another. Also, a post-match show of sportsmanship from Sky let us know that this is a Scorpio Sky who is very much a babyface these days.
Elsewhere, Miro - another misfit toy left out in the cold for most of the past 12 months prior to Collision's launch - got a solid, steady promo where he again lambasted his god and talked about his double-jointed wife. Again, this was fine as AEW look to reintroduce the Redeemer, although he will need to start doing more than short promos and squash matches sooner rather than later.
