Announcements, debuts, returns, and reCristenings. The show that had it all.
While not as good an episode as the previous few have been, this week's Impact Wrestling was still a massive success for the company. It's seemingly impossible for them to have a subpar show during the current climate.
The build towards Slammiversary continued following last week's former WWE stars tease, with the main event of the 18 July pay-per-view being made official as a mammoth five-person World Championship clash was revealed by Scott D'Amore. Alongside that, the builds for a few other contests were also hinted at, including a Knockouts Championship contest that would no doubt steal a show anywhere in the world. Safe to say the Knockouts division doesn't need to worry about a lack of talent any time soon.
Elsewhere on the two hour spectacular, Michael Elgin again pinned a former World Champion, Cody Deaner reemerged from Kwaranteen to save his cousin and Willie Mack, The North returned to the Impact Zone for the first time in around two months after being stuck in Canada this entire time (although they'd be happy to argue over the 'stuck' term), and Jake Crist became a fully-fledged member of Cancel Culture under the alias of Jacob Crist.
A few minor incidents aside, and this was a superb show. The wrestling was perfect for the most part, and the stories all made sense. No complaints to be made in that respect.
