9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Nov 17)

3. And So It Begins

After a few weeks of anticipation, the Knockouts Tag Team Championships Tournament officially kicked off this week, as Havok and Nevaeh battled Tenille Dashwood and Alisha Edwards in first round action. There was only ever going to be one correct winner here, and luckily, it was indeed the right team who advanced forward.

As expected, Havok and Nevaeh dominated proceedings here, with Dashwood quick to tag out as soon as Havok came into play. It's important to note that while this column typically looks down on anything to do with Alisha, she was actually alright here, utilising a decent wheelbarrow flatliner at one stage. Not the cleanest, but it did its job nonetheless. A second attempt at the move was countered into a wheelbarrow cutter from Havok and Nevaeh as they move one step closer to becoming Knockouts Tag Team Champions in two months.

For a match to kick off the tournament, this was a fine choice. It needed to include at least one of the already established tandems in the Knockouts doubles division, which we got in Havok and Nevaeh, while also include a bit of backstory to it, which we also got in the form of Tenille constantly falling out with her partners. Things can only go up from here.
