9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Nov 17)
1. Thank You, Rascalz
What a main event.
For the final time in their Impact Wrestling careers, Dez, Wentz, and Trey Miguel took to the ring, with Dez and Wentz facing 'The Fresh Prince of Mid-Air' and the World Champion Rich Swann to bring an end to their two years spent under the Impact banner. That the match got a chunky length of time was superb as the trio, alongside Swann, were more than deserving of it, as were the audience watching at home as there was never any doubts about the quality of the match.
What was delightful to see was the numerous mirrored spots between the four competitors. Seeing how well they all knew each other's offence and how to combat it was a little touch that really brought the whole thing together. Even the ways some of the pinfalls were broken up made for neat additions, with a superkick causing Dez to accidentally break up Wentz's pin following a Hot Fire Flame. A stiff kick courtesy of Swann to Dez ended the match, as well as the Impact careers of Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, and Trey Miguel.
It could have done without the post-match backstage beatdown from Sami Callihan and Ken Shamrock, but this match was the perfect way to bid a fond farewell to three men who helped rebuild and reshape Impact Wrestling over the past three years. Without them, there's no denying both the X division and tag team division wouldn't have been the same.
For that alone, we must say a thank you to The Rascalz.
