9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 6)

Downs...

3. An XXXL Implosion?

In the first of two Victory Road rematches this week, The Rascalz pairing of Dez and Wentz were again victorious over XXXL. Like with the match we'll talk about after this, it was more or less the same thing we saw on the Impact Plus special, so the need for a rematch was rendered meaningless.

Acey Romero and Larry D at least showed some more cohesion than Saturday here, literally pulling Dez apart at the start of the match, but, like on Saturday, they eventually fumbled, courtesy of Romero's accidental discus lariat to Larry. One Hot Fire Flame later, and The Rascalz were again successful over the superheavyweight pairing.

Why Impact felt the need to schedule a rematch of a bout that wasn't overly enjoyable in the first place is mind-boggling in itself. That it was equally as dull only further proves they're lost as to what to do with either of these pairings. The Rascalz should undoubtedly by included in the title picture for Bound For Glory, seeing as they were involved in that whole gang warfare situation before The Good Brothers replaced them for one match.

As for XXXL? They may be no more sooner rather than later if their previous two outings have been anything to go by, which would be a terrible booking decision on Impact's part. The pair need to be together, otherwise, there's a strong chance they'll flounder.
