9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 6)

2. A Rematch, Because Why Not?

Brian Myers pinned Tommy Dreamer at Victory Road. Fine. Whatever. It's a thing that happened, and we should've moved on from the tedious rivalry, but instead, we had a rematch. No real reason for it, as Myers won cleanly for once. However, there was a lot to divulge.

Firstly, as a match, it was more or less the same contest that was fought this past Saturday. The same slow pace, one or two of the same spots (namely the reversal to each other's DDT), and so forth. It's a shambles, really, that the only main difference prior to the match's conclusion was that Dreamer wore a headband this time around.

Unable to get the win with his impaler DDT, 'The Most Professional Wrestler' dove to ringside in search of a kendo stick, which was soon stolen by Dreamer, and almost used by him too before Myers pleaded for his forgiveness. Being old, 'The Innovator of Violence' believed him, taking a scratch to the eyes and a multitude of kendo stick shots to the head for his troubles.

Not only does this mean the pair are now one win apiece (not two to one, like Josh Mathews made out on commentary), but it's clear we're far from over between the duo. Myers could easily be something a lot more, but instead, he's being held back in meaningless stories such as this.
