9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 6)

6. Johnny Swinger Is Actually Good

So, as it turns out, Johnny Swinger is actually enjoyable when used correctly. 2020, man - it's a weird one.

'The Swing Man' teamed with his young boy Crazzy Steve - who claims to actually be 107-years-old - as they opposed The Deaners. It's a match that would have been perfect for the Wrestle House compound had these four still been living there, but that's not to say it wasn't fun for what it was.

Cousin Jake clearly was having none of Swinger's technical wrestling expertise, while referee Brandon Tolle caught each and every one of Swinger's attempts at cheating. Surprise, it's easy to be caught cheating when you're doing it in full view of the man in stripes. An attempt at using Steve's pet monkey as a weapon for the second week in a row was thwarted by Crazzy Steve himself, and 'The Swing Man' was spiked on his head by Cody Deaner for the win.

By no stretch of the imagination was this a masterclass in tag team wrestling, but it provided a bit of fun that Impact has been missing since Wrestle House wrapped. There's nothing wrong with having all these serious stories going on at once, but it certainly helps to add in a bit of comedy to help break them up.
