9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 6)

5. The Grass Isn't Always Greener

Your writer seriously debated over whether to make this an Up or a Down, but upon further consideration, it sits here as an Up.

The facts are that Heath was finally on the verge of receiving an Impact Wrestling contract from Scott D'Amore. Having been trying to do so since his arrival at Slammiversary, 'The Hottest Free Agent' instead presented D'Amore with a contract proposal of his own, seemingly believing his stock to be worth a lot more than Impact management had planned.

This, on top of Heath arguing with D'Amore, resulted in the former Team Canada member tossing Heath's papers in the air, and retracting his contract offer to the former multi-time Tag Team Champion. Thus, the story continues.

That in itself likely would have made for a Down, as this was the perfect conclusion. However, the aftermath with Heath and Rhino was far too personal to not make this an Up. Speaking of how he was offered a new WWE contract following his summer appearance on Raw against Drew McIntyre, only to decline it in favour of Impact Wrestling because 'The War Machine' told him to, made for an excellent tidbit of storytelling.

Even if it's not factually correct, it adds a whole new dynamic to the story.
