9 Ups & 3 Downs From ROH Final Battle 2022

5. Perfect Pure Rules Showcase

ROH Final Battle 2022 Wheeler Yuta Daniel Garcia
ROH

Ring of Honor's famed Pure rules aren't for everyone. For those who are a fan of such bouts, or for those simply wishing to learn more about Pure contests, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia put on a fantastic example of what these matches can be.

Of course, in addition to the technical wizardry and strategy that a Pure contest allows to shine through, Yuta and Garcia's match had a personal edge to it due to how these two hugely promising wrestlers have been major rivals across the past several months. To the credit of both, the pair brought a sense of vitriol and hatred to their latest battle, and, as ever, the duo delivered magnificently between the ropes.

Having Wheeler pick up the W was likely the right call, with that freeing up Daniel Garcia to focus his attention on new rivals for he and his JAS buddies to deal with. For Yuta, his role in the Blackpool Combat Club and his emphasis on being a wrestler makes him the smart choice to focus ROH's Pure ranks on.

Yuta and Garcia will dance again - with the two surely destined to become career rivals - and if this is the last dance for a while, Final Battle was the perfect pin in this rivalry.
