9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Collision (July 1)

4. Christian Cage, Magnificent Prick

AEW Collision Shawn Spears Christian Cage Luchasaurus
AEW

He was only on AEW Collision this week for a matter of minutes, but boy, did Christian Cage maximise his minutes.

As the proud faux TNT Champion informing Shawn Spears to "talk to the champ" - referring to himself, of course - Cage gave off the sort of slimeball aura that he's so often specialised in across his lengthy career. Despite being a great babyface at times, Christian is never better than when he's a total douchebag.

Here on Collision, Cage yet again displayed how much of a magnificent prick he is. With Luchasaurus snarling in the background, Christian's arrogance, smarm, and general disdain towards Shawn Spears was brilliant to see. Not just did this brief segment yet again do wonders for Christian Cage - and, in some ways, for Luchasaurus - but it also did, well, something with Spears.

It feels like forever since Shawn Spears did anything of note in AEW, and by having the TNT Title in his crosshairs, that instantly makes the Canadian feel more relevant that he's been in a long, long time. Spears will also be great in his inevitable championship match - whether that's against Luchasaurus or Christian Cage.
