9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 2)

4. Laugh Now, Fight Later

Using Dark to continue storylines established on YouTube or elsewhere (as is the case with Santana and Ortiz vs. Best Friends) is far more compelling than cramming it with identikit pseudo-squashes, so it was nice to see AEW pushing this burgeoning beef forward here.

Santana and Ortiz cut a promo on Trent and Chuck Taylor after their win, saying their fight and heart was only going to make it much better than they send them crying to their mothers. Scumbag Ortiz then joked about sleeping with Trent's mother, the beloved Sue, leading to Best Friends jumping them in the parking lot later on, a brawl breaking out before Dasha Gonzalez.

Nothing major here, though the feud feels suitably heated and intense. The blowoff match should be a lot of fun.
