9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dark (Sep 2)

8. Brandi Goes In

Brandi Rhodes was appropriately obnoxious in her promo on Anna Jay, showing that she's still a piece of work despite rushing to husband Cody's aid after his TNT Championship loss.

AEW's Chief Brand Officer was strong here. She ripped into Jay for her blind allegiance to "Daddy Brodie" and the Dark Order, having been choked out by 'The Star of the Show' on Dynamite's Saturday special, reminding Anna that the world owed her nothing. Brandi has no confidence in Anna's intellect as she "joined a goon squad that needs Brodie to tell you what to do and what to think all the time," saying that when you aim at the queen, you'd best not miss, then promising to send her straight back to the Nightmare Factory where she belongs.

This is an interesting character dynamic, given Jay is a product of QT Marshall's gym. It's heel vs. heel, though this makes sense, as retconning Brandi back to babyface would have been silly following The Nightmare Sisters' recent run.
