9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Full Gear 2022

Ups...

9. Better Than Predicted

AEW Full Gear 2022 Sting Darby Allin
AEW

Time to be honest: This fan had Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Sting and Darby Allin pencilled in as an automatic 'Down' before Full Gear. A tag bout from J-E-DOUBLE-F isn't exactly what one needs on an already overstuffed card, but it was surprisingly entertaining.

Credit to everyone involved for forgoing the straight up tag route and going with an old-school arena-wide brawl instead. That played to the strengths of the legends, kept Darby busy with his wrecking ball antics and even let Satnam Singh get his licks in as the potential game-changer for the heels.

10 minutes went by in a flash.

Here's a sentence you never thought you'd read in 2022. A match involving Sting and Jeff Jarrett managed to up the energy in the building after a slower-paced bout (Saraya vs. Britt Baker) and a fairly lacklustre three-way (the TNT Title situation).
