9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (2 Feb)
3. Madman Fulton Steps Up
Every now and again, you get a Madman Fulton singles outing, where you're reminded of how f*cking great he is. Last night vs. Josh Alexander was one of those times.
The former SAnitY and oVe member decimated 'The Walking Weapon' for periods of the bout, going so far has to chokeslam him on the ring apron (which, if you didn't already know, is The Hardest Part Of The Ring™). A deadlift claw slam, alongside Fulton generally sending Alexander flying around the ring, were clear examples of how WWE missed out on a big beefy boy who can wrestle a darn good match.
Needless to say, the flurries of offence Alexander did manage to get were made all that better by Fulton's stints of dominance. The tag team specialist resorted to amateur wrestling techniques to keep Madman on his toes. That powerbomb/rolling elbow/Tiger Driver '98 combination he used to finish off Fulton showed you how much it took to keep the former Sawyer Fulton down for three. The piledriver alone wasn't enough in this case.
Rather surprisingly, Ace Austin didn't intervene too much here, and instead left it to Fulton and Alexander to wrestle a phenomenal contest. More of this, please. Josh is en-route for a cracking singles career in Impact, whereas Madman has the potential to be a real breakout talent in 2021 if he keeps up this level of performance.
