9 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (7 Oct)
3. Getting It Done, Club Style
Though it took a while to catch any steam, Chris Sabin and FinJuice vs. Bullet Club was a success when it eventually got rolling, highlighted by its sequences between Chris Sabin and Chris Bey. Their opening exchange was almost like a passing of the torch as they performed the age-old stereo dropkick into double get-up spot; only Bey would perform the kip-up, though, effectively saying Sabin is past his prime while Bey is just entering his.
The Bullet Club trio made FinJuice, in particular, look impactful, selling particularly beautifully for Juice Robinson's cannonball senton. Juice came in with such force that perhaps it wasn't even a sell, but rather a genuine reaction. Sabin, Robinson, and David Finlay's trio of outside dives made for a nice spot and visual, before an Art Of Finesse put Sabin down, albeit after a straight punch to the d*ck from El Phantasmo.
The low blow was warranted as Sabin had already countered Bey's finish with a backslide. He needed to be further weakened before the match could conclude.
IMPACT has done a tremendous job at getting Chris Bey over as a Bullet Club member, with the Ultimate Finesser effectively transforming his entire aura. He looked transcendent here, backed by the colossal Hikuleo and charismatic ELP. The right man for the winning pinfall indeed.
