9 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (7 Oct)

4. Keeping It Fresh

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mickie James is personal. Deonna attacked Mickie first at NWA's Empowerrr pay-per-view in August, a night that was about women's wrestling that meant a vast amount to Mickie. She's since followed this up by again attacking James, this time at her own farm.

Scott D'Amore enforcing a no-contact clause between the two until Bound For Glory is what was needed. This is a feud that's been ongoing since Slammiversary; they've had a fair amount of fights, so there's only so much they could achieve. By putting this rule in place, however, you're keeping the aura of the two fighting feeling fresh.

Mickie bursting into a meeting between Purrazzo, D'Amore, Gail Kim, and Matthew Rehwoldt was an exemplary flurry to lead into the announcement. She was pissed off, and rightfully so. To help enforce the clause, Mickie will lose her title match if she lays hands on the Virtuosa, while Deonna will lose the Knockouts Title should she do the same, plus they'll each pick an opponent for each other ahead of the 23 October pay-per-view. This begins at Knockouts Knockdown for Deonna Purrazzoo.

This clause always benefits the match that it's applied to, with the dual Pick Your Poison bouts adding further layers to the story. Props to IMPACT for this; the perfect storyline advancement.
