9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Sep 22)
1. Another Loss?!
Last week saw Susie and Kylie Rae victorious over Kimber Lee and Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, with Susie scoring the winning pinfall over Lee ahead of Rae and Purrazzo's upcoming championship contest (now confirmed for Bound For Glory on 24 October). With that in mind, it was a bit deflating seeing 'The Crown Jewel' again pinned by Su Yung's alter ego this week.
Lee and Susie were in singles competition, with last week's tag partners serving as ringside managers this time around. Overall, it was a fine match for what it was - Kimber Lee, in particular, used some gorgeously-executed kcks throughout the match. None of this really mattered in the end, though, as Susie overcame everything to win with a Panic Switch. Granted, Deonna did accidentally knock Kimber as she was on the ropes, but it was nothing more than a light touch - it wasn't anywhere near enough to open the door for another loss.
What's astonishing is that, since officially signing with Impact a few months ago, Lee has only won three of her ten matches thus far. Two wins over Havok in the build towards Slammiversary were followed by her defeating Katie Forbes on an episode of Xplosion. For someone who's aligned with the current Knockouts Champion, this simply shouldn't be a statistic.
