9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Sep 22)
6. Championship Implications
Speaking of Impact Wrestling's doubles division, the two other teams involved in last week's main event very nearly came to blows during a backstage interview, as The North gate-crashed Gia Miller's interview with the self-proclaimed number one contenders, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. As a side note, the positioning of the camera throughout this segment was exceptional, as Ace and Gia looked minuscule compared to the towering Fulton.
Ethan Page and Josh Alexander insisted they were responsible for last week's victory, which is a fair statement considering it was their Northern Assault that led to Ace scoring the pin over Chris Sabin. Both teams have a right to call themselves the next in line to challenge The Motor City Machine Guns, and so will do battle next Tuesday. That's it. Nothing else to report on here.
It's not too often you see heel vs. heel matches in wrestling these days, particularly as it pertains to tag team wrestling, so this will be a welcomed change. It's not straight out listed as a number one contenders match. However, seeing as we're edging ever closer to Bound For Glory on 24 October, it may as well be.
